Now, this will be an interesting journey!

The theme for the course this year (the first time it is held) is Participatory GIS (PGIS) and Public Participation GIS (PPGIS). We will study different approaches of how a so called rich description of a spot on Earth as decribed by a citizen can be respectfully transferred into a GIS in such a way that the richness remain and can be utilized for urban or other planning or analysis.

We will have a look at different tools that can be used to support this endeavour, and design workflows for collecting, analyzing and presenting this kind of data.

We will also most likely visit  the GIS Market on 2nd or 3rd November to aquaint ourselves with the latest GIS-related technology and to listen to some presentations concerning how GIS can be used to analyze biomass and CO2 balances.
